Work Party Saturday 27th June

Postby BarryS » 20 Jun 2015, 10:33

We have permission to conduct an all day work party at the club next Saturday. Robert will be holding shooting lessons until around 2 pm, so would appreciate us staying out of his way until then which means we can focus our attention on the new toilet facilities completion, and improvements to club security.

There can be no work on the lanes until after Robert and his clients have left the site.

I'll be there from around 9am (I'm working in Colchester until 8am, if I go home, I'll fall asleep)

Volunteers please?

Just been testing my welder on the thicker bits of metal Ive got. I dont think its beefy enough to weld the padlock tab back on properly. Does anyone know what ampage Jodys welder is? Im pretty sure its higher than my 135A.

I will be there next weekend, so will pack the welder. Will be more than capable of welding that clasp back on, could just do with some gas as the gas less wire is pretty poor. But I need a bottle so will sort that out mid week

Thanks Jody.

There are five volunteers so far, Jody, Phil, Steve, Simon and me. I'm guessing there will be a few more along soon. Does anyone have contact details for Michelle? She wants to cook stuff for a work party

Not sure about that to be honest, my 135 barely touched it. It looked ok on the surface but when I cut it open there was no penetration. We'll give it a go though. :)

If you file/cut a 'V' (can't remember the correct term) it'd do it ;)

Morning only for me I'm afraid. Been roped into helping at school fete. I'm in goal all pm for penalty competition. I'm happy to get up the club early though to make a start on bogs.

Not going to be coming on saturday, or sunday for that matter. Completely forgot that I am going away to Santa Pod for the weekend. So I'm out I'm afraid!!!

We'll be there morning or afternoon. Can't do the whole day due to the dog.

Is this causing a problem re welding? Do we now need to hire a welder as well as genny?

Got a straight-forward arc welder & rods I could bring, if necessary - but you'll need to give me a day or so notice - it's in the back of the garage (& the rods are in the bottom of the airing cupboard)

Well of course, where else would they be?

The only bit that my welder might struggle with it the padlock tab. I might do it but wont know until I try. But it wont matter too much I think. With all the other bits sorted the hut will be plenty secure even if the tab isnt 100%.

Umm, your strimmer and hacky things is about it I think. My vans all loaded up with tools and welder, picked up the genny already so I'll be there around 8.30 as will Simon and Barry.

Yup, no access to the wood till then. The plan of attack is Simon, Barry and whoever else is there works on the shed while I do welding. The alarm needs fitting and testing as well.

Did get a tad warm this afternoon pushing the strimmer round, but can now use a 30 yard zero board 'next' to the 55 yarder
