I can't really put into words how I feel.
I am lucky to have known Ron and will miss him dearly.
My thoughts are with Anne and family.

Ron was a true friend and a gentleman with a unique sense of humour.
I will miss him.
My thoughts are with the family.

Just to say how lovely it was to see your comments on the forum .So very sad that we had to say "goodbye " to such a wonderful man ,husband ,and father to our 3 great kids who are being my constant support .Today has been surreal sorting out so much "stuff " but I would like to let you know that we have a date for his cremation at Colchester crematorium on Wed 28th at 11am .It would lovely to see any of you and if any of you feel like coming over after at Halstead you will be welcome . As some of you who know our small house would be unable to accommodate many , but our amazing neighbours have offered to hand over their huge open planned home for us all. Everyone has been so helpful and supportive. It will be family flowers only ,but there will be an opportunity at the service for you to donate to our two favourite charities:

ST.HELENAS HOSPICE
MOTOR NEURONS DISEASE ASSOCIATION (MNDA )

Thanks for all your messages of support. The shooting club was such a big part of Ron's life as well as mine. I hope soon to get out to the club to see you all again.

Bye for now

Anne

Although it was a sad day today at Ron's funeral, I like to think he would be pleased with the send-off given him. A good showing from the club, and even Gordon Eley from Kent Woodsmen turned up to pay his respects. I joked with Ron a little while back about him getting his plaque for the memorial bench while prices were good. I didn't realise how prophetic that would be. I think the club should supply the plaque but would have to speak to Anne, at a later date, regarding the wording.

As hard as today was, I think the funeral was very fitting. Ron will always hold a special place in our hearts.

I was quite proud of the clubs turn out for Ron, pretty much everyone that knew him for any length of time was there.
