Club Opening and Covid 19
Hi everyone,
After consideration we have decided to remain open this coming Sunday 22/03/2020 and will monitor and update on a week to week basis thereafter. It must remain everyone's responsibility to keep to a high standard hygiene when at a our little club. If you don't want to be exposed to the risk of exposure then it will remain your decision to either attend or not to attend.
We recommend that those that want a hot drink and food to bring it with them. Please refrain from using the club facilities as it is difficult to keep clean due to not having proper washing facilities, I.E. no running water. Please keep a safe distance as per the current recommendations when moving about the grounds. I believe that there is sanitizer in the club hut and in the toilets so please use this.
We would also recommend that we all use gloves when setting and retrieving any targets and equipment from the facilities and course. If everyone could take there disposable gloves home and dispose considerately.
If anyone is confirmed, DO NOT ATTEND THE CLUB. This would be extremely irresponsible.
Kindest regards
John.
PS keep well and look after yourselves and your loved ones.

Re: Club Opening and Covid 19
Good evening everyone.
I/We hope this message finds you all well.
Further to my last message regarding the possibility of the club opening up again.
After much debate, the committee has decided to open the club up next Sunday the 31st May 2020 on a trial basis adhering to the below Iceni Marksmen FTC Covid Rules 2020. With this in mind we the committee have drifted up the below guidelines and rules for this purpose. This is initially to club members only.
Iceni Marksmen FTC COVID Rules 2020
COVID-19 remains a threat at the moment to all of us. Whilst we appreciate that some will want to get back to “normal”, it is clear that for now, there has to be a new “normal”
We have therefore agreed the following rules/changes be put in place which are in accordance with government guidelines and the NSRA guidelines which were set out recently.
The new COVID-19 club rules are;
1. No tea or coffee making facilities. – If you want a drink you will have to bring your own. Please take all your own rubbish away with you so we don’t have to unnecessarily risk contamination.
2. The club huts to remain shut – Only for use under certain circumstances which we will outline further down.
3. Maintain at least 2m distance between anyone on the plinking range. We hope to mark these out and make it clearer for you.
4. The course will have a (mostly) one-way route through it. Feel free to jump on any lane but keep social distancing at all times - give people their space. Maintain 2M distance between you and your partner.
5. Whilst waiting for a lane, please keep socially distanced at all times, It’s a big wood, there’s space! Remember rifles need to be facing over the firing line at all times even when not shooting!
6. Pulling strings – It is recommended that you use a hook device or sanitise your hands regularly on the course. We will need to discuss how this can be achieved as the strings will need a loop to be installed on each one. It may be worth just using sanitising gel before each string is pulled manually.
7. We are now cashless, all existing members will have to register and sign up to their membership via http://www.webcollect.org.uk/iceni
8. Wash your hands or sanitise regularly – the club is making pump tap available for use outside the toilet shed.
9. The toilet shed will remain closed, only for use in emergencies.
10. Attendance to the club must be “signed off” via a text message to the club mobile (07907 386096), on the morning of the shoot. No payment required on Sundays due to step 7.
11. Guests will have to contact the club first, if they turn up on a Sunday, they may be shown around (observing the 2m social distancing rules) but no forms to be filled in. This will need to be done online.
12. No club gun hire for the foreseeable future.
13. No Gun sharing at all.
14. Park sensibly, let others have their space!
15. Due to the container and club huts being closed, we are not going to be offering the bench-rest benches, feel free to bring your own.
The Club encourages you to bring your own antibacterial gel or wipes. As per step 1, please take away your own rubbish!
Club hut closure – NSRA guidelines state that we cannot be in an area inside, this means that one person can go in and get the keys but no other usage will be allowed.
Re 7. Going cashless means there is no longer a requirement to pay on the day. We are all now due to re-join! Membership now can either be paid in 6 monthly or 12 monthly blocks. Still allowing for Junior, Seniors and Adult pricing. There will be NO WEEKLY FEES. The membership (subscription options) will be available on http://www.webcollect.org.uk/iceni Payment via direct bank transfer. The system will remind you when you are due to pay again. Further explanation will also be on the website and you will need to tick and agree to that you have read both these rules and the club safety rules.
Be assured, that we will endeavour to amend the rules as the guidelines dictate. Please make sure that you remain up to date with the current COVID-19 rules using the Iceni forum.
We wish that everyone stays safe and well at the club, so with that, please enjoy your shooting, be mindful of others and keep safe.
Lastly, if you are suffering from the symptoms of COVID-19 or live with someone who has symptoms, please do not attend the club under any circumstances.
Disclaimer;
by registering for membership again, you agree that the club takes no responsibility, in the event that you contract COVID-19. This includes all members and especially those who have been advised by government to “shield” (received a letter).
Failure to keep to the above rules will mean the club can ask you to leave and may rescind your membership. Note – we can all appreciate that this situation is quite fluid, and things could change quickly or at short notice.
Kind Regards
John Lloyd
For and on behalf of the Iceni Committee.
Update: 26th June 2020
Gun sharing is now allowed with members of the same household or within your social bubble.
Update: 20th July 2020
Club memberships will be frozen in the event of another lockdown. For example if you paid in June you would be due next June, however if the club closes again the closure time will be added to your membership.
I/We hope this message finds you all well.

Can't see Callum and myself getting back to the club until 'social distancing' is over, due to car share and the fact that all his shooting gear is stored here, so he's 'technically' sharing kit?
See you all at some point in the future.

Re: Club Opening and Covid 19
Is the electronic payment system seen as being a permanent arrangement?
If so, when normality returns (if indeed it ever does) will there be a 'guest' shooter rate available? For example, for shooters from other clubs, or infrequent attendees? (Me). Or a day rate?

Re: Club Opening and Covid 19
All payments to the club will have to be by bank transfer for the foreseeable. I would expect a system where they txt the club number (like members do) but providing name, address in the txt. Bypassing the webcollect system.
It also depends if it's one visit in x months or more frequent as there's insurance implications.
Obviously the committee need to discuss this when the time comes though lol.

Re: Club Opening and Covid 19
Thanks Nat and John.
I don't anticipate much in the way of club attendance for a while. Being furloughed, I've been fortunate enough to get a part time job but that involves weekend work.
I didn't want to not be able to visit occasionally, and I do appreciate the difficulties your presented with just now.
I'll keep in touch

Re: Club Opening and Covid 19
Will memberships now run 6/12 months from date of payment, or will they run until end of Nov/May? i.e. If a person were to pay 16th July, would membership run out 15th July 2021 - or would it be pro-rata?

Re: Club Opening and Covid 19
As a thought, is the 'cashless' system going to be permanent, or just for the current situation? Thinking that if permanent, it's going to be awkward for things like pellet sales, air fills and winter league?

Re: Club Opening and Covid 19
Winter league isnt the clubs problem. We may take money on the day for now but the money is taken away by the sefta treasurer on the day. No reason they cant sort online booking in.
As for air fills.. Thats in discussion and pellets can be via bank transfer. People already pay for them that way. Once bank transfer is setup its pretty easy to make additional payments to a payee.

Hi Gerry,
Yes we will be continuing with cashless payments for the foreseeable future as this will be the new normal for almost all clubs in the future.

With todays new lockdown announcement it's unfortunate but ICENI will be closed until further notice.
We hope to see you all again sooner rather than later but in the meantime, please stay safe.
