Round 8 Winter League at Iceni

Postby Simon H » 31 Jan 2017, 15:14

I went to see Robert today. We have the ground from 1pm this Saturday to move the firing line, however, the shot gunners have the ground from 1pm the following Saturday. Robert says they have priority until they are finished which hopefully will be about 2.30 to 3.00.

We will need to get things planned this weekend so targets go out quickly next Saturday. At least the nights are drawing out and it doesn't get dark until after 5 now.

Well done everyone that turned up. I think we got a reasonable amount done. Cheers to John L who we missed but had been up there from 8am  servicing the targets.

So we got the line moved ready for next weeks WL and if it works out probably for the GP as well.
We didnt get a chance to put targets out but we have the spare number plates hanging on brackets ready for targets. If anyone who reads this is up there early enough to put the targets out, when you get to the lane near the tower, look up.

Gerry also hacked back the brambles up on the field so theres now a bit more room to play with and easier to get to the 55 marker.

Some of us (the more the merrier) will be staying on after shooting tomorrow to have a tweak of the course and put some new brackets out so hopefully next saturday should be fairly straight forward.

Line's been moved, brambles cut back down to the 55 yard board & round the 50 yard board, target placement done for tomorrow, hope that the 'early birds' guess where the minis and micro go ;)

Hi all,
Great course planning and set up yesterday. As many people mentioned today, with a few tweaks it will be an great course for next week and a good test for the GP options.

Appologies for not staying on today but I needed to do some things for my mate who is terminally I'll.

As I said some of us won't be there on Saturday as we will be Trudging round the shooting show, we won't be enjoying ourselves though honest!!!!

Happy to help out. :D

I'd like an addition to the pre shoot briefing though if possible?

Any suspicion of an obstruction between the shooter and the target, be it 'string', 'reducer disc inside the kill' or anything else....the shooter must call the target BEFORE the shot is taken. If the shot is taken and the shooter failed to ensure a clear route to the kill and the target doesn't fall. It'll be marked as a miss!

I'm not being rooked again.... ;)

Just turn up in your Bradley Wiggins Lycra and no one will even think about querying a target with you :D

Thanks for helping out.

I'm pretty sure thats in the rules anyway but yes, I dont see why that cant be emphasised in the briefing.

Dont think so, we are only bunging out the targets so the most we might have to do is clearing twigs.
