The 2011 Grand Prix

Postby Bazza » 03 May 2011, 07:41

As you are probably aware, the club has been awarded the British Field Target Association's Grand Prix round on Sunday, July 10th this year. This event is a prestigious competition consisting of 50 targets, open to shooters from all over the British Isles. Like all competitions there are strict rules to adhere to, such as one shot per target, 2 minutes maximum to shoot a lane of 2 targets, etc. The event is open to all and costs £10 to enter. However, anyone taking part receives a free raffle ticket, which is drawn on the day, to win shooting based equipment. If you wish to enter, then you must register via the BFTA website, there's not much point just turning up expecting to shoot when all the places are filled. However, the club needs your participation in helping to run the competition smoothly. Jobs include just painting targets, helping with the parking, marshalling, etc. What does Iceni get out of this apart from the prestige? Well, we have the publicity to attract new members and much needed income so we can hopefully improve the facilities us shooters want. If you can help in any way then please register your name with the secretary, Barry Warren. Many thanks.
