It's with deep sadness I have to inform the membership of the death of Gary Smith over the weekend of 6th/7th September. As most of you were aware, Gary was admitted to Colchester Hospital suffering with pancreatitus a few weeks back.
Personally, I have been a friend of Gary's for 27 years, we both started FT shooting together at Newland Hall, Chelmsford, in 1987. Springfield was formed when that club closed and transferred to a new shooting ground, Gary then served as Competition Secretary with them for many years. He became a member of Iceni when he moved from Ongar to Clacton.

Gary's funeral will be held at Weeley Crematorium on Thursday, 25th September, 11.45am. I shall attend on behalf of the club. For the record, Gary would have been 60 in November.
