Winter League Round

Postby Bazza » 05 Feb 2014, 21:03

Just to let members know Iceni Marksmen are hosting their round of the Winter League this Sunday, 9th February. A few of us will be down the ground, the Saturday before, to lay the course, all welcome to help. We cannot be there before 1pm though.

Little concerned about the parking for Sunday. With the extra vehicles expected I think we will be heading for trouble. Will inspect the ground when we are down tomorrow and see what the consensus of opinion is as to whether we cancel Sunday's winter league round. :(

Yeah to be honest we were going to not bother turning up on sunday after all to give the car park a rest but I still think it will be pushing it.

Anyway we'll still pop down there to help setup if required tomorrow :D

The decision has been made to cancel the WL shoot tomorrow due to the muddiness of the field so it will be a normal club day tomorrow. The course has been set out though. A totally new course, with the line and lanes in places we havent used before. Should make it interesting.

It's the next round of the Winter League this Sunday. We shall be at Springfield, home of the winter gales, tornados, whirlwinds, even typhoons, etc. Anyway, Mic will need a hand setting the course out, down our club, so please give him some help. Thank you.

Not the finest moment but then conditions at Springfield were some of the worst I've ever seen. Todd did well with a 32 but Keith and I scored just 25 each. Mind you, the average was about 27. :(
Our Winter League, which was cancelled a couple of weeks back, is now scheduled for the 16th March, 2014.

Are we still in the lead though?

March 16, I'll be back home by then.

If I'm reading right it looks like Kent are one shot ahead of us now and we're 14 shots ahead of Springfield.

I'm hoping we can get down on Saturday 15th but have to speak to Robert on Thursday to confirm. He likes us to ask him nearer to the event in case he books in clay lessons. Will e.mail as soon as I hear a time. Many thanks.

Popped down to see Robert today (Thursday) to pay his rent and see what time we can get down the ground Saturday to lay the winter league course. Unfortunately his shop was closed, does anyone know if this is normal with Radcliffe's. Will have to phone him Friday :(

He always had a half day closing when he was in the town, so I guess he has carried this on.

Edit: just checked his web site, nine till one on Thursdays ;)

Thanks for that, never realised they had a half day. Anyway, Robert is away but his colleague reckons it would be ok for us to go down tomorrow (Saturday 15th), to set the course out. All welcome from 12.30 on.
