GP Sponsor

Postby Bazza » 29 Jun 2013, 09:02

I've been in touch with the Airgun Centre, Rayleigh, who have agreed to put a raffle prize up at our GP. However, some of the proceeds must go to the charity "Help for Heroes". Peter Zamit, the owner, has promised a substantial prize, will find out next week what it is.

Cool, good stuff.

How much is 'some'?

Have the Airgun Centre got a banner we can borrow to hang up at the GP?

Spoke to Peter Zamit at the Airgun Centre who, very kindly, is providing gift vouchers for £300 and £200 (to be spent at the A.C.). I suggest we raffle these off at the GP and preceding weeks to club members as well as GP shooters. I can obtain raffle tickets which could hold the recipients contact details (name and phone number only possibly). I need to know how much we should charge. The majority of the proceeds must go to "Help for Heroes" charity. Let me have your thoughts please. I will be picking the vouchers up next Saturday.

I'd say a £1 isn't enough but a £5 would be too much. Perhaps somewhere in the middle??

I'd say £2 a ticket - but then, if you were to charge £1 a ticket, how many would have £5 or £10 worth? ;)

The club has decided to offer the raffle tickets at £1.50 each or £5 a strip of five, thereby promoting the sale of more tickets. Tickets are now available with 3 prizes! First is £300, second £200 and third £100. The prizes can be spent in the Airgun Centre, Rayleigh on any items the winners wish. Our thanks must go to the sponsors.

Many thanks to all those who contributed to the Help for Heroes charity. First was Wendy Abbott, second Rob Walker and third Todd. The total collected is £281.00 not a terrific amount when you consider the prizes on offer. What are your views on the club donating a small sum, after all, we are a garrison town with one of our members in the forces. Let me know what you think.

How much did we make from our GP? £400 and something wasnt it? How about adding that 'something' to the HfH total so we keep a round £400.
