I think I may have found the answer to the 'slackers' ;) I'm still researching it at the moment, but by next years AGM, I may be able to supply a fully thought out & workable system to put to the members, if the committee agrees

Sounds intriguing!! Does it involve a cattle prod?

I THINK IT WILL BE VERY HARD TO INSTICATE SOME KIND OF ROTA SYSTEM HAVING BEEN AT THE CLUB FOR SOME TIME.THROUGH THE YEARS WE HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING BUT TO NO AVAIL.YOU CANNOT MAKE PEOPLE GET THERE EARLY AS SOME HAVE HARD WORKING WEEKS,AS YOU HAVE NOTICED IT IS THE RETIRED "GENTLEMEN" WHO ARE ONLY TOO GLAD TO GET OUT OF BED.......FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER.. TO PUT IN THE GRAFT.
MY SECOND COMMENT IS, THAT I MAKE NO EXCUSE FOR THOSE WHO DISAPPEAR AT THE END OF THE DAY HAVING ENJOYED THE FACILITIES OF THE COURSE AND THE USE OF THE ZERO RANGE,ALL A LOT OF HARD WORK AT THE END OF THE DAY USUALLY FOR THE SAME PEOPLE.
A LOT OF HARD WORK IS CARRIED BY SOME MEMBERS TO SEE THE SMOOTH RUNNING OF THE CLUB.SO PLEASE HELP.
UNFORTUNATELY THIS TEXT WILL ONLY BE READ BY THOSE WHO ARE THE "GRAFTERS" WHO USE THE FORUM
I EXPECT I WILL BE TARGET NUMBER 31 NEXT WEEK.

The idea which I'm working on isn't a rosta/rota, it will give all the members an incentive to help out (not just at setting out or bringing in the course/plinking area either), it doesn't cost the club anything to run, it's working at the club that I've been talking to, so a tried & tested method, although they use it in a more limited system than on a weekly basis, hence having to 're-work' the application of it to suit our club needs. Should be able to give an outline of the idea by the weekend.

Not my idea  , it belongs to another club, I've just had words with their secretary, and he's explained the workings of it, and has given me full permission to see if it would help with Iceni.

Personally speaking I think our club does very well with the majority of our membership willing to help pull in/place targets. Having been a member of quite a few clubs in my time, I have noticed there are always a minority of shooters who take advantage of others. One club I belonged to insisted on a rota system where shooters had to help one week in four or lose their membership! Bit harsh, but then they had 150 members.
