Iceni Marksmen was formed in 1984 to promote the skills and discipline required for field target shooting.

The sport involves shooting at metal knockdown targets within lanes in a woodland environment. We provide a large practice area, to enable people to set up their equipment, and enjoy measured target boards and a variety of knock down and spinning targets. It’s a great place for beginners to start to learn the skills in a safe and controlled environment.

Members are always happy to assist with getting people off to a good start, with a safety officer on hand to help.

We encourage all ages and abilities, providing a safe place to shoot for all family members.

We meet every Sunday morning at the Radcliffe shooting ground, just outside Colchester. The ground consists of a large woodland area, which is a stunning carpet of Bluebells in the spring.

Our courses are set out to BFTA (British Field Target Association) guidelines and include sitting, standing and kneeling lanes. Targets are set between distances of 10 to 55 yards.
